Mango Lassi With Honey
You can use your choice of fruit here – try this with bananas, or ripe peaches or raspberries!
½ cup plain yogurt
1 small fully ripe mango
2 -3 mint leaves
1 tablespoon honey
¼ cup water
5-6 ice cubes
Optional: Garnish with ground cardamom and a drizzle of honey
In a blender, add the yogurt, mango, mint leaves, honey, water and ice cubes. Blend well. Add more water if you like a thinner consistency. Garnish and serve immediately.
There are so many amazing farmers at the market. Here are a few that sell yogurt and a few that sell honey.
(Thanks to Sala Kannan for the photo of the yogurt. Really appreciate it)
Blue Ridge Dairy – Blue Ridge Dairy Co. is a small artisanal producer of handcrafted cheeses and yogurts located in Sterling, Virginia. We produce fresh and smoked mozzarella, burrata, fresh ricotta, aged feta, cultured butter, yogurt, and greek-style yogurt daily from fresh and local jersey cow’s milk.
Quaker Valley – Winn and Winifred Schulteis operate Quaker Valley Orchards and Guesthouse, a 220-acre fruit farm with guesthouse located in the heart of apple country, Biglerville, PA, just minutes from historic Gettysburg. They can be found at the H Street, Dupont Circle, Silver Spring and Foggy Bottom markets, where they sell delicious tree and field fruit, fresh vegetables and free-range eggs. Quaker Valley also has baked goods, sauces and jams made from their own fruits and vegetables.
You can also buy honey from other farmers at the market including: Sand Hill and Spring Valley
