Understanding self publishing

The book world is changing at a rapid speed. What was once thought of as vanity publishing is competing with traditional publishing and, some would say, winning! Unknown authors are reaching the NYT bestseller lists with their self published books! Come join us for an informative and engaging workshop with Monica Bhide where she explains the basics of self publishing and how you can get your book published –

The workshop will cover:

  • Understanding the different models of publishing (including traditional, self, book packaging etc.).
  • Understanding the different types of self publishing and the pros and cons of each model. We will also look at specific examples in different genres – fiction and non-fiction
  • What should be in your self publishing tool kit – digital tools, techniques etc. We will also discuss numbers – the financial aspect of self publishing
