Monica Bhide on Dishing up Virginia: I have lived in Virginia for the past ten years and have fallen in love with it. This book has made that love deeper. It is filled with delightful recipes, rich history and reflects the true spirit of this state: love. I love that Patrick showcases the state’s culinary heroes (people and peanuts!) throughout the book. My kids and I fight over the popcorn with pecans! The Virginia Sea Scallops with shallots and walnuts is comforting and so simple to make. I am honored to be a part of this terrific book.

I’d love to win the giveaway because I’ve been a fan of Patrick Evans-Hylton since I received a copy of Costal Virginia magazine from my career services advisor at the Culinary Institute of Virginia and have been following him ever since. I also think A Life of Spice will open me up to a different perspective and help me in my goal to do as you both have and become a food writer in the future. After graduating this month, I think both books would be not only an excellent graduation present but I great step in moving towards the next phase of my Culinary journey!
I am always looking for something new and fresh to try on the kitchen so these books will be great. Thanks!
I have followed Patrick since he wrote for my local paper “The Tidewater News”. I listen to the Delicious Dish for his latest recommendations.
